Flying-Cam helicopter
Main Technical Specs :
-
Main Rotor Diameter : 6ft / 1.8m
-
Weight : 30Lbs / 15Kg, ready to fly
-
Top air speed : 75mph / 120Km/h
-
Maximum Hovering (out of ground effect) : 14,000ft / 4,200m density altitude
(density altitude is related to temperature, humidity and local pressure)
Notes :
-
Flying-Cam extreme lightweight design diminishes the downwash allowing to fly closer to actors or wind sensitive surfaces like sand, water and snow.
-
Flying-Cam engine is working with pure methanol, less volatile than gas. It allows safe flight operation indoor. Methanol is the fuel of choice for NASCAR and easy to find everywhere in the world with the same equal purity. Methanol is foreseen to be the carburant of the future used in fuel cell. Methanol allow also to work without ignition system then eliminating a source of radio frequency noise for better range and more robust and clean transmission from air to ground and ground to air.

Range
-
With 1 pilot : visual, ±1,200ft / 350m maximum diameter in unobstructed area
-
With 2 pilots in relay : visual 1,800ft / 550m maximum diameter
Notes :
-
A chase vehicle (car, boat...) for the pilot can be used to extend the range significantly. In case of fast moving shots, the top speed of the chase vehicle must ideally approach the one of the helicopter : 75mph / 120km/h.
-
When we have to fly close to an actor or structure, the pilot must be at a distance allowing for good depth perception.
