Curse of the Golden Flower:
The Premier Movie in China with Flying-Cam
Production : Sony Pictures Classics

Having its third team in Asia for merely one year, Flying-Cam has reached a new high by joining the blockbuster Curse of Golden Flower directed by the most renowned director Zhang Yimou in China.

Setting in the Tang Dynasty, Curse discloses on screen the rebellion inside a magnificent imperial palace, and Flying-Cam was enlisted to boost the momentum of this very upheaval. To capture the splendid warfare, Flying-Cam was requested to fly above hundreds of soldiers in golden armors, tracing their path of invasion. Thousands more CG soldiers were added in post-production. Flying-Cam combated many challenges. Not only flying in the rain at night, we also flew through a constricted gate over the march, revealing into our eyes the grand decor of The Forbidden City set in Hengdian, the largest studio in China. The flight required tremendous precision and at the same time carefully thought precautions. The Flying-Cam II was equipped with a heavy 18mm Zeiss Lens High Speed T 1:3 to capture the night beauty of the revisited City. Thanks to our most experienced pilot and Flying-Cam founder, Emmanuel Previnaire, we have achieved this highly difficult shot perfectly. All the hard work of our professional crew was deemed rewarding. Many Flying-Cam shots have been selected for the short but breathtaking trailer:

Following the success of the first shooting, Flying-Cam was invited again to visualize the dynamics of galloping horses in Chongqing. Flying-Cam once again demonstrated its compatibility with the nature: we flew in very close range to 15 racing horses in full gallop.
Curse marks a wonderful start. Flying-Cam will continue to dedicate its expertise to the flourishing filming industry in Asia.
